Press Release No. 123

INTRODUCING THE BERGAMO 9 EXPANDABLE WATCHWINDER

Collectors of fine Swiss automatic watches will find the new BERGAMO 9 watchwinder to be the perfect solution for both displaying and "exercising" their fine watch collection.  Designed to wind up to nine automatic watches independently, the new BERGAMO 9 from ORBITA Corporation combines old world craftsmanship with modern electronic design and engineering.

There are a total of nine (9) winding heads, each of which may be individually programmed to rotate clockwise, counter-clockwise, or automatically reverse, according to the particular watch being wound.  The winding time for each is also adjustable to provide the exact number of turns per day (TPD) recommended by the watch manufacturer.  Silent and durable servo gear motors power winding heads through a technopolymer spur gear system.  Precision ball bearings are used for all rotating elements to assure long and trouble free life.  Input electrical power is 100 to 240 volts AC, 50 or 60 hertz.  An electronic "switcher" power supply converts incoming AC power to low voltage 6 volts DC which powers the ironless core, low current motors.  All circuits are provided with overload protection.

A unique feature of this design is its expandable construction.  The BERGAMO can be ordered with as few as 3 heads and easily expanded to 6 or 9 heads as a watch collection grows.  No need to start all over with a new winder whenever a new automatic watch is purchased.

Each watch is fitted over a resilient, non-marking latex foam cushion that adapts to virtually any wrist size.  After mounting the watch, the watch and cushion assembly is inserted into a winding cup that is made of glass-reinforced nylon.  The sides of the cup are relieved to prevent any contact that could damage highly polished surfaces.  Watch security is assured by the tilt-back angle of the cups that eliminate all concerns of watches falling as they rotate.  As each cup rotates according to program, the individual watch is wound....but with no chance of overwinding.

The Italian handcrafted cabinet has a plate glass viewing panel in the wood framed door which is lockable.  The cabinet is made with Madrona Burl veneer with accent stripes.  The cabinet is finished with a high gloss, multicoat polyester lacquer that is extremely durable and maintenance free.  It is also available with Mahogany or Brazilian Rosewood veneers.
