ORBITA CORPORATION BEGINS EUROPEAN WATCHWINDER PRODUCTION ORBITA Corporation, America's first and largest manufacturer of watchwinders for automatic watches, has just opened a second plant in Austria. Chuck Agnoff, ORBITA's President, in announcing the startup of this new facility commented "Our business in Europe and the Middle East has tripled in the last year. However, most of our European customers are small upscale Jewelry and Watch shops which lack the administrative staff to handle imports from the USA (duty, freight, VAT, etc.). That coupled with the "slide" of the Euro has made our dollar based watchwinders too expensive for them to carry despite the growing demand for watchwinders in the luxury goods sector". ORBITA's new European headquarters is in Wiener-Neustadt, Austria, a short drive from the Vienna Airport. The Managing Director of the new company, ORBITA Watchwinder, GmbH, Mr. Hans-Jürgen Pass, said, "Now we will be able to deliver and service virtually any ORBITA Watchwinder overnight to our customers in Europe and the Middle East with Euro pricing and language support in either English, German, French or Italian." ORBITA Corporation began operations only three years ago, offering a unique, patented device to keep fine automatic watches wound when not worn. Currently, they produce a variety of sizes for winding 1,2,3,4,6,12, or even 24 watches concurrently under controlled conditions of rotation direction and duration. Their website www.orbita.net has detailed technical information about their winders and a worldwide dealer list.
